The .res file is mainly for servers that are using fast downloads. I tells the server what files it needs. Although since I used pakrat theres only 1 file it it right now. Without pakrat there would of been two....but ya know. Maps like nippers maps which have hundreds of custom textures and sounds. Those normally have a giant .res file. I don't like it when map makers leave me hangin with no .res file to put on my server. So i'm not going to make people have to do that with mine.

You don't need a res file for a map.txt file for credits. just put the mapname.txt file in the /maps folder along with the map and it will work.

People won't download it from the server then will they? If they can't do that then they can't see it. :?

Well...i'm somewhat new to this server stuff and new to map making. If it really does download from the server then I won't make a .res for my next version...if my map successfuly runs with using pakrat that is. But when my first b1 came out and was on my server I never downloaded the text. That or it didn't get put on our server somehow.

b3 is way too big. After I bzip it, its still 6mb, its going to kill my bandwidth. Can you reduce the size?

6mb is not big for a map, i suggest you try to get a redirectspace where bandwidth isn't a problem :)

6MB means 60GB of bandwidth in 1 week for me

Sorry, it won't be changed.

If I did take out the part that ups the size the most, it would basically be destroying the best part of my map and the time I spent working on it.

6mb's bzipped is big for a map on popular servers like Disclosed and I run.

I most likely will not be running this either
