I started 1st year in secondary school (ages 12-18 generaly - 1st to 6th year) and they had Spanish and French which I did for 1st year, then chose Spanish as my language.
After 3rd year I moved schools and they only had French and German so I chose German and had to do a six year course in 2 years (5th and 6th, 4th year is an optional year called Transition year, mostly practical subjects).
I failed it the first time but repeated it a year later and got a D. Better than most people who did it for their entire 5 years =)
